While I was in Paris this last trip I heard the news that one of my favorite hotels Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal was awarded the number 5 spot for hotels in Paris for the Reader's Choice Awards. I have worked closely with this hotel over the last year and since the timing was right we actually got to toast to the occasion together in Paris. I looked high and low the last few days for a copy of the magazine but it wasn't until I was back in the States that I got my hands on a copy.
A few reasons why I love this hotel. First off it is centrally located in Paris. You couldn't pick a better location. There is a metro stop just 2 minutes walking from the hotel. It is also just minutes away from the Louvre and The Tuileries. It is also just steps away from my favorite, Palais Royal.
The service is above and beyond. I have been lucky enough to stay at the Hotel twice over the last year and I know they see guests come and go all the time. The smile on the bellman's face or the front desk staff as I walk up is the best greeting. They immediately welcome me back.
The views are incredible! The hotel overlooks Palais Royal which is a very special place to me. I used to live 5 minutes walking distance and would walk through this Park daily.
Some of the suites have bathtubs overlooking the Parisian rooftops. This is the best way to end a day of sightseeing in the City of Lights.
The panoramic suite has an amazing terrace that overlooks the city. You can take in Paris from the comfort and privacy of your own room.
Lastly, don't miss out on Le Lulli the hotel restaurant. The lunch I had there was still one of my favorite meals in Paris. I ran into Chef Clément Le Norcy when I was back a few weeks ago and he instantly remembered not only who I was but also what he cooked for me.
