Paris: Cléo Restaurant at Le Narcisse Blanc

One of my goals this year for the blog is to help you discover Paris through my eyes which include showing you a few hidden spots. Last Autumn I had the pleasure to stay at Le Narcisse Blanc on the left bank just a few minutes from Pont Alexandre III. I wanted to share the restaurant in a separate post as it needed a few more photos and I didn’t want to overwhelm you. Le Narcisse Blanc is one of the most beautiful hotels I have visited and I was lucky enough to spend a night here as well. I hope I get the chance to visit again this year because it was a real treat. You can see all about the hotel and the rooms in my earlier post

Inside the luxury boutique hotel, you will find the restaurant Cléo which is run by Zachary Gaviller from Montreal. While I was waiting in the lobby for my room to be ready I could watch him in the kitchen preparing the food for the evening’s meal. It is not often that you are able to see inside the kitchen of any restaurant especially a French one.

The restaurant maintains the color palate of the hotel (ivory, gold, and blush) and every tiny detail is thought of and chosen carefully. You can see the textures in the mirror that resemble that of Coco Chanel along with the gold pendants and wallpaper.

The menu is rotated seasonally but the homemade strigoli with braised octopus, bone marrow with tomato sauce and ricotta is a menu staple. This is what I caught the chef making my hand earlier and I knew I had to try it.

After the strigoli I had the charred tuna, cucumbers, guindillas, and buttermilk. The restaurant is small enough that it is an intimate setting but not too small. I made friends with the table next to me and although I dined alone it was an enjoyable experience. I had arrived a bit earlier than the couple sitting by me so they asked which dishes I ordered as they came out and made sure to take my recommendations.

I finished the night off with the dessert of course because I can never say no to chocolate. I enjoyed the creme puff with chocolate ganache and salted caramel.

For a starter/main or main/dessert the price is 29 euro and for starter/main/dessert as I had it is 38 euro. Make sure to check the website for the current menu. There are many choices and the menu is always changing.

  1. Cléo est un de mes restaurants favoris à Paris. J’y suis allée il y a un an mais je m’en souviens encore!
