On Monday I sat down to write a post that was extremely personal. I have written a lot of posts in the last year and I honestly wasn't expecting many people to read it. It was more of a personal update on what was going on and something that I have been struggling with. I had no idea so many people would read it. The last few days I have been quiet and there is a reason. First off I am so overwhelmed by all of your messages. I have been reading on Instagram, Facebook, emails, texts, and in person chats. Seriously the only form of communication that hasn't been used is snail mail ;)
For all of you who read the post, Thank you! It means a lot to me for you to take the time to read something I wrote and allowed me to be so personal with you. For those of you who wrote me back individually about the post, you are amazing! I am not talking short messages these were lengthy, thought out and personal. I am so honored that you trust me enough to share your own personal struggles with me. I literally have read every one of your messages and so many of them have brought me to tears. I am trying to write you all back which is what has been taking me so long!
In case you are wondering if my Dad read the post: It wasn't a letter to him so I was actually hoping he didn't read it. (for those of you in his office that kept this private thank you) I know his first reaction will be that I am accusing him of being "a bad father" and this is not the case. I didn't write this out to hurt him. I have come to an understanding with a lot of my family that they truly did the best they could. Like I said in the last post we are not perfect nor should we strive to be. It just isn't normal. It is the imperfections that make us who we are.
If I learned one lesson from writing this week's post is that we all have our personal struggles and so many of keeping them private.
My Grandmother (my Dad's Mom) used to ask me to share something good in my life (my aunt has taken on the tradition) so I am going to the same and end this post on a postivite note and ask you to do the same to you. Tell me something good that is going on in your life big or small in the comments below.
My Good News:
I am heading back to Paris in September! I finally secured the apartment which is by the same owners as the last beautiful apartment I stayed in. I am so excited to be back in my old neighborhood that I loved so much. I will be back for a special project that I am keeping a secret until September. I have shared with a few people in person but it is something so different and new and really out of my comfort zone.
