Rebecca and I recently had a chance to do a little holiday gift shopping at some our favorite Parisian-inspired shops. Although it was a bit cold and rainy on our shopping search for the perfect holiday candles for her apartment in the city and my home in the ‘burbs, we were able to introduce one another to new brands and scents while stopping in at some important tried and true French fragrance institutions.

Anytime Rebecca and I are in a city together with a Diptyque, we have to dip into the shop. I was excited to learn of the new limited edition 3 candle holiday coffret inspired by a three-act winter tale.

Act 1: Sparkling Incense / Un Encens Etoilé – Striking incense mixed with sweet vanilla and hints of alluring, spicy cloves.

Act 2: Delicious Spices / Épices et Délices – These warm, delectable notes of gingerbread are intertwined with honey and hints of star anise.

Act 3: The Festive Fir Tree / Le Roi Sapin – This crisp candle carries you to the heart of the pine forest, with rich, lush woody notes.

This ethereal collection is a perfect idea for a friend or family member who adores holiday traditions and charm.

If you want to continue exploring the sparkle of the traditional holiday spirit, discover the Odeurs D’Hiver Collection, a gift set of candles: Bethléem, Gabriel, and Gaspard. These spirited candles can also be purchased separately. The Bethléem fragrance takes you to the warm, glowing amber manger. The Gabriel candle ushers in the warmth of the cool winter with warm woods, leathers, and nutty notes. The Gaspard features refreshing, dazzling mandarin essences blended with warm notes of sandalwood.

For a truly luxurious experience, Cire Trudon historic French treasure. Trudon candles were used in the court of Louis the 15th and his kingdom’s largest parishes. If you’re looking for a gift for someone who treasures the traditional and classic, the Ernesto Candle will do. It has a rich woody, leather and tobacco fragrance that would pair nicely with a bourbon, leather couch, good book and warm fire.

Le Labo’s Santal 26 is the ultimate refined, yet thoughtfully produced candle for more of a minimalist friend or environment. This simply designed, yet complex fragrance of amber, warm vanilla, and sandalwood embody the perfect scent to keep you cozy on a snowy winter day.

Although the home, body and cosmetics brand Rituals is rooted in eastern traditions, we both were taken with The Ritual of Light Collection, which is inspired by ancient light ceremonies around the world. Of course, the packaging, product story, and refreshing sweet orange with warm cinnamon aroma immediately to me on a scent journey to the City of Light.

Whether you want to feel warm, happy, invigorated, or inspired, there are lots of new and exciting scents to join you on your journey into winter’s wonderland.
