I have always loved the tiny square of Place Dauphine located on île de la cité on the same small island as Notre Dame. It is a bit hidden and easy to pass by unless you know where to find it. That is part of the charm of Place Dauphine. On warm days, you can find pétanque being played in the square.
The location of 25 Place Dauphine by Paris Perfect is centrally located between the left and right banks. I created a map so you can see what is close by in terms of where to eat, drink, and explore. There is so much within walking distance. There is Metro Line 1 close by on the island if you need it. Line 1 is a central line running through the city and is a great jumping off point to navigate the city.
For reference, I stayed in Monbazillac which is a one bedroom duplex on the top floor of 25 Place Dauphine.
The apartment included a small terrace overlooking Place Dauphine. I was lucky enough to have some pretty fabulous neighbors who shared wine with me and invited me over for cheese one evening.
I will mention that the apartment was stocked with wine, water, orange juice and milk upon arrival. This made it so much easier to transition into the apartment and not to worry about groceries. There is a grocery not too far from the apartment to pick up anything you might need. In the center of Maubert Mutualité there are options for a fromagerie, boulangerie ( I perfer Eric Kayser), boucherie. It easy to make your own picnic from all of these individual spots. There is also a market right here as well on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Even if you aren’t buying anything, it is a great activity to people watch.
The sunrise from the apartment was beautiful. I miss waking up to this view.
I took full advantage of the nice unexpected warm weather and went out for a morning walk on the Seine. It is less than 5 minutes from the door step and once of my favorite things to do in Paris. I planned on being gone for just a few minutes and ended up being gone for 2 hours. Since there isn’t a boulangerie on the island, Paris Perfect Rentals leaves baguettes in the downstairs lobby. One baguette for each apartment! This is such nice detail that really made the stay even more enjoyable. You can go down in your pajamas and enjoy breakfast on the balcony.
Don’t miss a stop at Shakespeare and Co and grab a coffee next door at the café.
For more places on where to eat and drink in the neighborhood make sure to check out the map and download it for your next visit.
This was a collaboration with Paris Perfect Rentals. All opinions are my own.
