Paris Diaries : No 11

Le Narcisse Blanc

Le Narcisse Blanc

I am a little behind after yesterday’s personal post. I want to get you back on track and don’t want you to miss a thing. I stayed at the stunning Le Narcisse Blanc on Friday night a new property on the left bank just a few minutes from my favorite bridge, Pont Alexandre III. I can’t tell you more about this property but just take a minute and look at the light filled atrium. This hotel has my dream color palate.

In the afternoon I checked into my new hotel which is an old favorite of mine, Hotel Powers. The room wasn’t ready yet so I made my way to the pharmacy for some cold medicine (exciting stuff I know) and then went to one of my favorite places for lunch Chez Andre.

If you are wondering about the hotels I am working on a whole list of places to stay in Paris. I get so many questions on places to stay and recommendations on all price points. I am actually coming up with a master list to make your trip to Paris the best it can be. I promise to do a whole detailed post on each hotel so you can choose the best one for you and your needs.

Hotel Powers is located just off the Champs Elysée which is a great location for people coming to Paris for the first time wanting to be close to the Eiffel tower and Arc de Triumph.

I had to run a few errands as my trip comes to an end so I found myself in the Tuileries. As I was watching the sun set from afar I knew it would be even better at the Trocadero so I jumped on the metro. But this view isn’t too bad is it?

The beauty of Paris is it isn’t really that big by metro, foot, or bike. You can usually make it to one end or the other by 30 minutes or less. I had planned on meeting a friend at the newly reopened café de l’homme but arrived early so I watched the sunset at Trocadero.

I don’t know if I will ever be able to say I watched the eiffel tower sparkle 5 times in a row but last night I did. We started with drinks, then food, and of course dessert. Café de l’homme has the best location for the eiffel tower in Paris. I was lucky enough to get a little sneak preview. It was freezing outside on the terrace but there were heat lamps which helped a lot. I am sure in Summer this place will be completely packed. I am sure you can imagine I didn’t want to leave this spot.
