Today I am taking you on a walk through Montmartre. Montmartre was my first neighborhood when I first moved to Paris and will always be one of my favorite places. It is removed from the center of the city sitting high above the hill but it has it’s own charm. If you haven’t been to Montmartre I highly encourage you to make time to visit. In the Autumn months, you have the ivy and colored leaves that dress the sides of the buildings. In Spring. you will have pops of pink from cherry blossoms and wisteria that climbs the windows.

Just behind Sacre Coeur, you have the most adorable cobblestone streets. You can get lost and find your own way. I suggest following the crowds. Get off at the Rue des Abbesses stop and walk up Rue Lepic all the way to Avenue Junot. There are a lot of cute side streets mixed in throughout. I typically walk until something catches my eye so I am actually encouraging you to get lost up in Montmartre. You will eventually stumble into a cafƩ or Metro or just trace your step backward.

  1. Montmartre has a special place in my heart. I’ve never stayed in Montmartre but love spending time there. I met a friend there a few years ago and we have kept in touch.

    • I am so glad you enjoyed Montmartre! If you get the chance renting an apartment there will be even better šŸ˜‰
