Paris Diaries : Autumn No Nine

bastille market flowers

My day started at the Bastille market. I wanted to pick up the same dahlia I had last week so I arrived early. The flower guys were still setting up so it actually worked out better for shooting this as they were below me and now propped under the yellow lanterns. They didn’t have the dahlia because the weather was cold and rainy but the good news is my flower guys know me and greet me with a “Bonjour” and I even get a smile out of one of them.

I had an appointment close to the Eiffel Tower in the morning so I made my way there via metro. I, of course, had to say hi to Madame Eiffel. There are some really adorable streets just behind Trocadero that I loved exploring and wish I had more time. I won’t lie I got a little distracted before entering my meeting but Paris has so much charm. As I passed by each home I was trying to decide which house I wanted to be invited for dinner. Does anyone else do that?

The weather was absolutely beautiful and I hated being inside for the morning. The only part about this area is there weren’t a lot of coffee shops like you can find in my neighborhood. I went into my meeting without coffee and almost fell asleep. It was my first stop when I got out.

I went to CafĆ© Constant for lunch on Rue St Dominique and had roast chicken and potatoes with a glass of wine. It was fabulous. While the inside was lively and packed I wanted to enjoy the fresh air so I sat outside which didn’t have the same ambiance for one. This is a great lunch/dinner option if you are in the area.

I had to run a few errands back in my neighborhood so I took the bus back towards Hotel de Ville and walked the rest of the way home. The weather was just perfect. It was the kind of weather you just want to throw open your windows for fresh air, turn on some jazz and pour yourself a glass of wine. I sat and people watched from my window and took it all in. This trip was more chaotic than the last one and time was short. I wanted to freeze time.
