If you were reading along with the book club, one of the most popular books this year was “The Perfume Collector” it sparked my interest in perfume more than ever. For years I wore a scent that was recently discontinued so it was perfect timing when Sisley introduced Izia. I am super sensitive to smells due to migraines so I am very picky when it comes to perfumes. I have fallen in love with Izia and it isn’t just me. Whenever I wear this perfume I get stopped and people ask what I am wearing. From the elevator, first dates, and most recently my Uber driver. The Uber driver couldn’t stop talking about my perfume and told me he wanted to get it for his wife for Christmas. He was even trying to count how many rides it would take to pay for a bottle. So sweet!!

I wanted to give a bottle of Izia (30 ml) to one of you as a Christmas gift!   3. It’s hard to pick one but I think the post on books would be my favoirte. I loved L’appart, so witty and eye opening (haven’t tried the recipes het). I love the fact that you try to put a little Paris in your every day life so that’s why it’s hard to choose one post. Each post reflects that je ne sais quoi. I’m in Chicago periodically (my son has two acclaimed restaurants there) and I had hoped to see you the last time at the Mercantile place but my schedule and the timing didn’t work out. Maybe next time. In the meantime,profite bien with your time in Florida and with your nieces. And as the French say bonnes fêtes de fin d’année

I’ve been a slacker shopping this year and I stuck to the letter of your recommendations for my “tricky” friends and relatives.   13. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I was thrilled to see your copycat recipe for hot chocolate from Angelina! I literally dream about their hot chocolate. I’m lucky enough to have a friend who goes to Paris frequently for work and always brings me back either a bottle or the powder, but I’m so happy to have this recipe stashed away for the winter in case I run out! Plus, the powder just isn’t the same compared to a fresh, piping hot cup.

  14. Love your blog so much! Paris has always been a huge love of mine, but people never understood why since I had never been. And maybe I couldn’t explain it either! But I was finally able to go this past September for our honeymoon & it was everything I had ever dreamed of, and more! Your blog posts helped me so much when I was just dreaming about Paris, or when I was actually starting to plan our trip! Your "My Paris Agenda" helped us plan our to-do’s and gave us great ideas on what to do while we were out there! We ended up taking a Macaron class with La Cuisine thanks to that blog post & it was one of the highlights of our trip!! Thanks for aiding in my love of Paris!

  15. I absolutely adore your blog! I love love love all things Paris, but I also love the personal posts too. I’m a single 36 year old woman in Los Angeles, and so many times find myself thinking, yes! me too! I loved the post, "In Real Life I Am Not Perfect" and I love so many of the travel guides, the favorite things, just about everything!

    I’m loving the description of this perfume. I’ve been hoping to find a second perfume to add to my beauty routine. Right now I have one that smells amazing on, which I’ve used for years. I’d like to add a classic French scent to my options.

  16. After reading about your meetup at Margeaux, I made a point of taking my daughter there when I visited her in Chicago in October. We had such a lovely experience. I wish I had been in town at the time of your meet up. So I will say that was my favorite post, although truly I love them all.   17. I really like your cheese puffs recipe!! I love that it uses Gruyere cheese and not the typical cheddar cheese. I also like your French girl beauty secrets post. I would love to try this perfume because you’ve posted about it several times!! I also really like your brioche bread recipe, but that was from 2016 🙂 Happy holidays!!

I live in a development that resembles Provence unfortunately not near you, so I haven’t been able to attend one of your get-togethers in Chicago. Maybe some day!     January on how to keep your skin hydrated in the winter. I live in Casper WY and my skin gets SO dry in the winter. I need great products to keep my skin hydrated!

    Love getting lost in your Parisian posts. I recently discovered my grandmother was born in Paris (I never met/knew her) and I felt like I found a piece of my puzzle I was missing. I have always been so drawn to French culture and it’s so amazing to know it’s just IN me!

  27. I mentioned on a previous post you made that I loved the picture of the fountain at Luxembourg Gardens. When we were last in Paris, we stayed in a hotel on Rive Gauche. We found ourselves drawn to go there several times. We stopped on the way at Dalloyau for espresso and pastries. Yum! We also located Gertrude Stein’s famous studio on rue de Fleurus. Great memories!

  31. My favorite post was the one on finding a perfect croissant. I take my two daughters to Europe every summer and we always sample things, from our favorite chocolates in Switzerland (hands down Laderach) to our favorite macaron in Paris (giant dark chocolate at Carette) and so on, all things we are thrilled to judge. Croissants have been on our list and now we’ll check out your faves on our next trip. It’s a great way to make the travel even more fantastic and I keep a travel journal which I survey everyone in each night, from funniest moment of the day, to best macaron eaten so far and so on. Reading them from years past conjures the adventures so happily. So all that to say we really loved the croissant post! We tend to go for sweet, chewy inside, soft, maybe a tad on the underbaked side. We are enjoying your posts from the Nation’s Capitol in Washington D.C. Thank you for bringing beauty to all of us ❤️

  41. Thanks Rebecca! I like to tune into your Links I Love series. You always find such cool articles that give insight into the Paris local scene. They are links I would never find on my own, it’s really nice to look forward to having a weekly Paris click session 🙂 I really like the links that explore the language. I always love practicing my French in Paris but I know I have a long, long way to go to become fluent and not sound like French Textbook 101…lol.

I cannot remember the title of the post, but when you wrote about packing your things into storage, taking the leap and moving to Paris for a few months…it was such a dream I’ve always had and almost just as good to read about someone “real,” really doing it. I’ve visited several times, but it’s your blog that pushed me out of my comfort zone to stay somewhere different for my upcoming March trip. Instead of staying conveniently in the middle of the city again, we’ve decided to stay in our favorite part to visit – Montmartre – and get to know the area better, after the majority of tourists have gone back to the city for the night. Your blog has been instrumental in our planning, in so many ways!!

  48. Wedding in Paris stands out in my mind. It was wonderful to see a totally different style of photos from you, you definitely went outside your normal box! I love the black-and-white photos of them at the café, and the color photos of that beautiful dress she wore. However reading this post, how you are sensitive to smells due to migraines, this may be a favorite 😉… We have something else in common besides our love of Paris. I too suffer from horrible migraines. I’m lucky that sense don’t bother me as much as some.
