If you are following along with My Paris Agenda I am on the hunt for the best croissant in Paris. I thought you could help me come up with 5 criteria to rate them. Flakiness, flavor, layers, butter, softness. Let me know how you rate your favorites so I can apply them. These are from the first boulangerie stop yesterday. They may be the winner... they checked all the boxes. But to be fair there are a lot more croissants to taste test before making a decision.
Life has been busy since I arrived and I am hoping to slow life down even more. I went for a walk in my neighborhood with friends on Sunday and they were kind enough to point out all the best coffee spots. Big Bonus! I will make you a full list for a future post. I am staying in Le Marais and it has been absolutely lovely. I love the center of Paris but this area has more of a neighborhood feel. I am close walking distance to mostly everything except the eiffel tower.
Last week the weather was beautiful in Paris so I skipped the sweaters and packed mostly Spring/Summer clothes. I am currently freezing as I write this. I should be a professional at packing by now.
I escaped the rain at one of my favorite classic cafés in Paris, Café de Flore which has some of the best people watching on the left bank. You can grab a table and sit all afternoon with a good book.
Speaking of books... my friend Lindsey Tramuta launched The New Paris last night at Sézane. If you are headed to Paris this year or have a friend that is this book is the perfect addition to bookshelves. It is all about the new movement from classic cafés to the new movement of food, cocktails, and life in Paris.
I spent the morning with my friends shooting some new photographs at a café and my favorite Palais Royal earlier this morning. It was beyond freezing so we had more than one cup of coffee to keep warm. I can't wait to share them with you!
