I have been thinking a lot about my life vs what people might think it actually looks like. Paris is not always glamorous and I promise while I really love my job it isn't always fancy coffees and pastries walking the seine. While I travel back and forth between the states and Paris I do squeeze a lot of work into a very short amount of time. I don't sleep much in general but I sleep a lot less in Paris. Late nights and early mornings with a lot of coffee in between.
So what have I been up to the last few days? After the rainy welcome, we did have some sunshine. See the photo. If you have been following me for a while you know I am a light chaser. I actually was running late to a meeting and crossed the Seine. I looked back and saw this image. When I went to capture it the whole Seine was just illuminated with light. I snapped a few more just because and messaged my meeting I was running late. Not everything I shoot will be loved by my customers. It is important to balance what I sell as work to relate to a wide audience but also capture what speaks personally to me. So far it is a good balance between the two.
As I mentioned before life in Paris isn't always picture perfect. Thursday I had two photo shoots one was for me by my friend Katie Donnelly. She was nice enough to edit and send me the photos before she left for Hawaii. I LOVE them and can't wait to show them to you. They have a personal story attached and I really am looking forward to hanging at least one of these up on the gallery wall. The other photo shoot is one of the main reasons why I came to Paris this trip. We had a full shoot all day Friday (12 hours) so you can imagine I am not only physically exhausted but mentally. I can't wait to share more on what the shoot was for but I have a LOT of editing to do before then.
I spent the day with my Paris Family exploring Jardin du Luxembourg and the Palace for Heritage Days. One weekend out of the year the city of Paris opens a lot of buildings that are otherwise closed to the public for viewing. The lines are long but we only had about an hour which was a lot shorter than I expected. I will share more on this weekend soon. If you are in Paris I highly recommend looking at the options for tomorrow. There is also a concert at Place de la Concorde starting at 2pm.
Now that my big project is finished for the trip I am really looking forward to seeing friends and shooting for the blog and for the etsy shop. Time is moving very quickly here and I plan to make the most of it. Thank you so much for reading.
