Links I Love: Week 30

paris articles round up of links from everyday parisian

As I write this, Chicago is experiencing a heat wave. It feels as it is almost 100 degrees. I am escaping the heat inside for a bit after a morning at the farmers market followed by yoga. I had a very full week teaching an intern that was shadowing me and catching up on my own work load. I am working on sorting out the last puzzle pieces to finishing my apartment. I went shopping for lighting and rugs and the kitchen is being painted in a few weeks. In case you missed it, you can see my Chicago apartment here.

Last weeks Links I Love was one of the most viewed yet. I love that people look forward to reading them. I get a lot of emails of people requesting for me to share articles and links but I am very selective about what goes on the list. It is so much fun for me to read through articles throughout the week choosing my favorites. Some weeks are more filled than others and this week, I actually had to push a good amount to next week since there were SO many great articles. Thank you so much for reading!! xo

If you are headed to Paris this month, bookmark this post for What is Open in August. A lot of places go on holiday for the month so this is a great guide to plan out your visit.

11 French Words French People Actually Use that You Should Know

How To Look French even if you are not

This candle arrived at my house as a surprise gift from a client. It was SO sweet and unexpected for this to arrive. Seriously, this was above and beyond and so appreciated.

Who knew, there is a Paris Guide for the month of August from Goop?

I am looking for a rug for the front entry. Thoughts on this one?

I feel very lucky to get advanced copies of not one but two books this week. I finished “Fromage à Trois” and I am currently reading “The Lost Carousel of Provence”

Why Do French People Have The Reputation of Being Good in Bed?

I used this recipe from La Cuisine Paris for madeleines this week and added fresh fruit from the market. They turned out so well! I promise I shared but now I want to make another batch.

I have an adorable niece and nephew who I love and talk to on a daily basis. My sister sends me photos and I very rarely share them on social media. I feel it is important to respect their safety and privacy. This article explains it well what parents need to know about privacy in a world of social media.

The Nordstrom Sale ends on August 6. I have made a few rounds of purchases over the past couple weeks. You can see my Nordstrom Favorites Here. I have worn the Zella leggings a few times already and I am so happy I bought them in every color.

I just sent a piece of art I bought on the Seine to frame with Framebridge. If you don’t know Framebridge, you can basically frame anything from art (mine or something you purchase) for really reasonable price and they do GREAT work too! You can save 15% on your first order here.

This past week I was SO thirsty and hungry and I couldn’t figure out why. I was also exhausted, sleeping way more than usual. Then I read this article and it might explain a lot. Was anyone else feeling this way?

If you are headed to Paris this August, don’t miss these new openings!

My Favorite Things This Summer

My Chicago Apartment Update

What I Bought This Week

I have already started thinking about Fall clothes… Summer feels like it is coming to an end and I want to make sure I have a few new pieces in my wardrobe.

I ordered this tie waist dress in Navy

This sweater blazer in khaki I think it will go great with my new blondo boots

I bought this in both black and red. I couldn’t decide on a color so I figured I would try them both.

  1. I feel your pain with this summer heat, the forecasted highs for the next few weeks continue to be in the 90’s in southern CA and I fear I’m not going to have a chance to wear my new booties from Nordstrom before I leave for Europe at the end of Sept.

    • Hi Maggie,

I hope you get to break them in with a walk around the neighborhood or out to get coffee. You will hit the ground running in Paris and I don’t want you to have sore feat.

      Stay cool! xo
