A Garden Party in Palais Royal

This past weekend I checked into Grand hotel du Palais Royal which is just next to Palais Royal, one of my favorite spots in Paris. The weather was picture perfect in the mid 80's and sunny. While I am known to be a workaholic, I took a little time to enjoy myself. I grabbed a chilled bottle of Perrier-Jouet and a few champagne glasses and my friend Katie Donnelly and I headed to the garden. I had a few macarons left over from Pierre Hermé which were from their new Spring Collection. I couldn't think of a better way to toast to Spring in Paris than with champagne and macarons in Palais Royal.

Paris : Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal

I first fell in love with Palais Royal when I lived around the corner. It was a five minute walk and I would literally find any excuse to stroll through it on my walks. I love it because it's so close to the Louvre, but always quiet and filled with locals instead of tourists. I could sit here and people-watch all day, or stroll through park with a coffee.

I was used to staying in apartments after living in Paris, so I wasn’t aware of the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal (not far from Palais Royal) until earlier this year. Let’s just say it was love at first sight. I was welcomed in to the lobby with a friendly smile that made me feel right at home. I had the pleasure of staying in the Panoramic Suite overlooking Palais Royal and I am not kidding when I say that I had tears in my eyes as I walked out on the balcony. Seeing the Palais Royal from up above is a beautiful sight. The view stretched from the Louvre to Montmartre.

The bathroom was filled with white marble and there was even a tub overlooking the rooftops. It's certainly the most perfect way to end a long day of exploring the streets of Paris.

The location of Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal could not be more perfect. You are steps away from a metro station, the Palais Royal, the Louvre, and the Seine. Grab breakfast in your room or downstairs in the breakfast room and you will be ready to start your day in Paris in the best way. They even have their own signature tea (which I highly recommend).

Personally, I can’t wait to get back here when I am back in Paris in October. It's one of my favorite Parisian addresses to stay at.
