I am currently sitting in the Dublin airport... I have left Paris. As I write this post I am snacking on a fresh baguette I picked up at the boulangerie at 6:30 am and I am enjoying my first cup of coffee of the day. I was able to bring the leftover salted butter and some comte from the local fromagerie. This has become a traditional meal with departing from Paris as I get to extend Paris a little further after I have left and I don't have to suffer through bad plane food.
This past week has been crazed, to say the least. I felt a lot of "The Paris Agenda" Rules went out the window. I had back to back meetings and I said "yes" to one too many projects. I hosted not one but two picnics took a day trip to London and tried my best to say goodbye to my favorite city. Note, I finallly watched her (the eiffel tower) sparkle for the first and only time on my last night crossing the Seine.
After a long chat with my friend Katie Donnelly, she recognized that the blog was my coping for my homesickness for Paris and that is exactly right. I hope that this isn't just for me that those of you that miss Paris or wish to visit someday find as much happiness with this blog as I have writing it. I really do enjoy sharing with you and I read every one of your emails and comments.
This feels like the first time I have actually had a chance to sit and write with a little time. I have a bit of a layover at the airport and there isn't enough time to explore Dublin so this gives me time to breathe and play catch up.
Last night was the perfect ending to the trip and there was a little surprise which I will do my best to share with you tomorrow. I have no doubt I will be exhausted and fingers crossed I will finally get some sleep.
